One of my goals for this upcoming school year is to have all my students make a conscious effort at leaving the smallest possible "carbon footprint" on our beloved planet! By using reusable cloth bags at the grocery store (usually available for about a dollar) a family can prevent hundreds of petroleum-based plastic bags and paper bags from making their way into our landfills. Jot me a note telling me if your family is doing this, or any other "green effort," and I'll give your child a free shot on our class nerf basketball hoop (a chance to pick from my prize box) for being a "Junior Green Leader!"
